SEVA

Few days before Christmas, what would be the best gift you can give? Material things for gifts are always present during the holiday season but this cannot top the good deeds we share to others that could bring so much joy in our hearth.  This Christmas, if we can put our money spending for material gifts why not share a portion to Kapuso Foundation Give-a-Gift Cancer Kids.  There are different ways we can help visit kapusofoundation.com.. Of course, there are other foundations and charitable institutions that are helping these underprivileged kids which we can extend our help..
Take your part today to put smile on these kids’ faces  just like what COPYLANDIA Company  is practicing SEVA (doing service to others without expecting something in return) as one of their core values…Every Christmas season the company is sponsoring a feeding program for these underprivileged kids.  The idea was set for the employees that are divided into several groups to scout for Barangays around Metro Manila and gather around 300 kids that will benefit for the program.  And am lucky to be part of one of the team we did are feeding program last December 12, 2010 at Block 22, Welfareville, Mandaluyong City.   It was a Sunday, and probably the only time we had to relax at home with our family but we (team 6) decided to do our share…So, we met at 6am at the set place and started to prepare the foods and toys that will be shared to these kids.  Everybody is doing there part even the Company‘s Comptroller Ms. Chit Noveloso are cutting carrots and peeling the garlic…Everybody is so excited!  So much positive energy is in the room were we work…you’ll see everyone has a smile on their faces though momentarily Sam made us cry as he peels the onions [laugh]…We really all feel glad and happy thinking that we are doing these for others especially for the kids..It was 9:30am, with two other members of the team Sam and Alicia, we proceeded to the location to set up the venue and register the kids so everything will be in order for the distribution of the foods and toys…when we arrived the kids are there waiting while being entertained by Mang Lito and his wife our coordinator there at block 22, who are very kind and voluntarily spare their time and effort for these kids..They welcome us with the smile although we had a tough time doing the registration…not all the kids that were there are in the master list…but of course, every kids that were there are accommodated…After an hour the rest of the team leaded by ma’am chit and ms marge arrived with the food…we did not waste any moment and started the feeding right away……a little commotion while in the queue…well, kids will be kids…left their patience at home..[laugh] but looking at it on another view, it sad to see these kids shoving each other for a plate of “pansit” and “puto”…Anyhow, you can portrait the happiness on these kid expression when they received the food… "a very rewarding and pleasurable moment for us"....And to extend the smile on these kids’ faces we brought out parlor games that all are excited to participate…as much as we’d like to embrace this present moment and thought it to be without end it has to conclude…"unexplainable feelings, thoughts linger in your head and to some point, you are certain to yourself that you’ll make it happen again"… toys for everyone!….and another commotion, but this time it’s the mothers who are excited in grabbing the toys [laugh]….. And it ends… laborious but the smiles on these kids’ faces are more than enough to compensate for the little sacrifice we did today…
This is a gift for us…"a wonderful experience that you’ll wish you have the capacity to do it more often"… carry on with a smile on my face yet sad thinking that the reality is not every one of us cannot afford the comfort of life……

am so lucky to have my sisters who are always extending their help to my kids during dismal times…
"I wish for more generous people to walk and see the path in helping less fortunate kids and families"….
